Website maintenance and care: your site stays online, secure and up to date
Website maintenance means someone keeps your site updated, edited and monitored, so it stays online, secure and current. My website care costs €79, €189 or €390 per month, and hosting, backups, monitoring and security updates are part of every tier.
What is website maintenance?
Maintenance, content care and hosting are three sides of the same job. Maintenance keeps the technology current: updates and security. Content care keeps what visitors read current: copy, prices and images. Hosting and operations keep the site online and backed up. A maintenance contract is the ongoing agreement in which a provider takes on all three.

No VAT is charged under §19 UStG (small business exemption). Website care is optional: a 12-month minimum term, then cancellable monthly. Without website care, I hand the website over to your own Webflow or Framer account, and you pay the hosting directly to the platform.
What happens without website maintenance?
A website does not stand still, even if you never touch it. Without maintenance, these are the things that usually slip:
- Updates are missed. Known security holes in software and extensions stay open until someone updates them.
- An outage goes unnoticed until a customer tells you. With monitoring, the alert comes to me.
- Without a backup, the site cannot be reliably restored after an error.
- The contact form can stop working without anyone noticing, and enquiries are lost.
- Prices, opening hours and contact details go out of date when nobody changes them.
What does website maintenance cost on the market?
In my market research of 1 October 2026, entry-level maintenance offers in Germany started at around €29 to €40 per month. Two agencies quote €80 to €200 and €80 to €300 as typical, and the highest tier I found was €390 per month.
The monthly fee on its own says little. Compare the time included for changes, the response time and the reports, and ask whether hosting and domain are included. With me, they are part of every tier.
Do you need website care if you edit your own site?
If you change content yourself, what you mainly need is the technical side: updates, backups and monitoring. A platform like Webflow lets you edit text without code, and I show you how.
